Look. I am not really much of an American Idol fan. Seems like the runners up are better than the winner, at least in the last couple of years. But, I have to tell you, check out this guy. I think they should call the whole competion right now, declare him the winner, and send everybody home.

    Indie rock

I like the concept and the music that Independent labels are putting out.

Having a son in college has broadened my music horizons.

Wilco, Modest Mouse, Yo La Tengo, Arctic Monkeys.

Sirus has been a great means to learn about new music, but it does seem to be repeating more now than when it first went on air.

That Underground Garage channel has some great seldom heard music.

I never miss getting the new stuff from Bruce, The Eagles, Mark Knopfler, etc.

Buying a song at a time on I-tunes is great.

    Yes!

Lately I've been listening to Meshuggah's new album. I have Arcturus in my truck right now.

Tungtvann and Dirty Oppland are something a little different in Norwegian.

    Just discovered My Ruin.

    White Horse, Casting Crowns, Selah

A somewhat eclectic mix of Christian music.....with White Horse being our church's band. They are now ranked one of the top independent Christian bands in the nation. These guys can really rock and sing da blues...Check them out at whitehorsemusic.com. They are going places and are already booking concerts for 2009. (A little shameless, but well deserved promotion).

    Downloading some tunes

I was on i-tunes downloading some tunes today and got hooked on Queen, I forgot how awesome Freddie Mercury really was and how many hits they had. Putting his personal life aside, he was one of the best ever!!!!

He should have listened to his own music........ Keep your self alive!!!!

    That British Actor

You guys got me going by bringing up Richard Harris. I went to You Tube the other day and can't get Macarthur Park out of my head. I turned 15 that summer and it was the last one I didn't have a job through. I got a 55 Chevy two door hard top for forty five dollars that summer. Wish I still had it. Alot of good music and a lot of good memories from that summer.

    Ken Hensley

From "Proud Words On A Dusty Shelf" the song "When Evening Comes" Anybody familiar with this gem?

Then into "Look At Yourself" By "Uriah Heep" little known fact, Ken sang this not David Byron.

*Ken was the brains behind "Uriah Heep" usually writing music and lyrics while playing keyboards, guitar and background vocals.

Also appears on the "Blackfoot" cds "Siogo", "Vertical Smiles", "Blackfoot Live", playing keyboards, vocals, slide guitar.

I realize this is deep but great music never goes out of style...
