Not to long ago, I’ve read a posting on the wall that there are 48 different Mod-Con Boilers Available on the US market. Well we all know that there are more than that out there (especially if you’ve visited the Ish in Frankfurt or are in Contact with Europe! Would it not be nice to see real hard data on some test results for all the boilers that are on the US/European market? (Not the “H” stamped Results). Currently Whenever I remove Boilers for whatever reason , I tear them apart to see what “makes them Tick” It’s something I always done since I was a small kid! When I am dissecting these Boilers I look at a bunch of things i.e. Age, Materials used, and Serviceability. Wear, Why I think they Failed, and a bunch of other things. Sometimes I wish I had a big warehouse with lots of data logging equipment, and running Models hanging all over the Place. Like a boiler Museum/ House Would it be nice to have a unbiased Cross referencing Chart ? Maybe even a spread sheet that everyone (PROF.) can enter Manufacture…..M #......S#..... of the Equipment. Then submits a printout of the combustion test, when the combustion tester was calibrated last time, The maker of the comb. Analyzer, This would go maybe with some system design’s , some Pix of the system Were it is Located. How high in elevation. Environment i.e. On the coast, on a dusty Road. In a Laundromat. Pool house near by, restaurant, Oxygen Barrier’s. Fluid Quality, PH , Maintained Records and so on… I bet there are lots of Factures that I’ve left out… Then there would also be a “feedback” on what it is that the PROFESSIONALS are seeing .. I think that the Professional will have to register first before being able to Post any feedback!!! They would then be Called and interviewed to see if the feedback can be used….. This will avoid Fake posting. Not that I do not think that the HO should not have any say in This Study, But I think that they Shall be able to give Feedback on a different Level…. I think that this will avoid a lot of HO feedback that can cause Confusion because they do not always understand some of the things that are going on in the Modern Heating system today . Basically What I am saying there would be Guidelines that need to be adhered to. This thing could be a positive thing for all , If one could get down to who has the “Best Track Record” Maybe there could even be a Award for the “Best Install”… One for the “Best Boiler” One for the “Best Reliable”……” Best service Kit”… and so on.. Kind of like Best automotive Rewards. Maybe someone is already doing this? If so who is? I know that there are lots of Opinions out there that could be use in this. No Harm intended!
