    When we got married 23 years ago we were given this definition of marriage:

    Marriage is the voluntary surrender of ones will and independence to another.

    And in our vows..."Do you give up the right to decide anything with "I" the decision is made by "we" forever, until death do "we" part".

    And...A good wife is like owning a beautiful classic car...alot of fun to take out for a ride...but alot of work at home polishing the fenders.

    I don't in any way mean to make light of the original posters circumstance...as a serviceman I get into so many homes that are devastated by divorce...we are currently housing a 16 year old girl that couldn't take the chaos anymore. I'm too am grateful for the stability of a common and deeply held faith with my wife.

    Been married 12yrs and a born again Christian for five. I would highly recommend the "Weekend To Remember" couples conferences that get put on around the country. It totally changes your outlook on your spouse. Should be required BEFORE marriage. Also like someone else said. Go to "No Greater Joy.Org, Micheal and Debbie Pearl's site for all kinds of great help books with a Christian view on problem solving, raising kids etc.. Good Luck, you guys CAN do it.
