Radiant Staple up

Looking at pricing a job for staple up PAP with ext. plates to a floor that already has thin slab and 3/4" tile on. I'am going to do heat loss on radiant program for water temp., but I was wondering how well it will work and if anybody has tried it already?

Neither the thin slab nor the tile have much resistance to the flow of heat. What's under the thin slab and tile?0 -
Call the team at
Radiant Engineering.com and see if they have any tables for that build up. I think I would screw, not air staple the plates up to protect the tile from pop offs
hot rod

Why PAP tubing for staple up. Seems to me you would want something more flexible for weaving the loops through the holes in the joists. I use 3/8 pex myself. Just asking. WW

I personally like using PAP for all applications, staple up, down, slab, etc. I don;t find it that much more stiffer. And for the energy you use in threading the loops in the bay is removed by the fact when you pull the loop through the bay, the tubing doesn't coil back up on you. While you are stapling the plates up, your helper is getting the next bay ready for you. They don't need to be helping you by keeping the coil from getting tangled.0
