Many thanks to Dan and the Wall

There are times, sitting in front of the computer and reading answers to questions, that I realize how much I dont know, and for that I'm grateful. Between your book's Dan, you expertise and stories of your past and present and the Monsters of heating found at the Wall (Mark H, hot rod,Ken, mad dog,Steamhead ah hell the list goes on and on) this place is the wet heat Mecca. Thanks so much.

    Many thanks

Seems like a long time ago when I recieved my first book, "Pumping Away". What a great book, funny how I keep Dan's books within easy reach behind my desk on the huge bookcase that covers the wall behind me.

I will roast a lamb, and raise a glass of ouzo in your honor...... don't worry Dan the lamb is a goner anyway, we "Greek Orthodox" have a big Holiday coming and the toast will be only one of many!!!!!

Seriously, it is unbelieveble how the Wall has become a part of our everday lives. Even though I may not be an everyday post-er, I check in to see what's going on almost everyday.

    Thanks again for everything

    Thanks Dan.

I would not be back in this business if it were not for your help, and the help of all of you guys here on The Wall.

    I cannot thank you enough.

    I hear that Scott!

Dan I kid you not, you are one of the largest factors our company is so successful. You have given us guidance when we did not know where to look for it. I am thankful for what you have done for my father and me, the friends we have met through you, and the inspiration you have given us.

A little over seven years ago I punched in steam on an internet search. This lead to this site and a few others I frequent. Many books, many friends, and in the last few years actual face to face meetings. One internet search changed my life both personally and professionally.

    Thank-You,

    Leo

    Dan...

...there is no doubt at all, that through your acts of generosity, compassion and kindness, you've actually saved lives. What a wonderful example! Heck, you even have an agreeable sense of humor ;~)

If it weren't for my interest in steam heating

I probably would not have met Dan. That would have been a major omission, since-

If I hadn't met Dan, joined the Wall and read his books, I might not have followed my interest in steam heating.

If I had not followed my interest in steam heating, I probably would not have met and married The Lovely Naoko. The house in which I met her has steam heat.

    Thanks, Dan!

    Great site and help

There is not another site that I go to more often than HeatingHelp.com!

There is more info on this site than what one could hope to get going through classes year round.

Thanks Dan for all you do.

    Where to begin

Thanks Scott for the great idea.

Thanks Dan for all you do and have done.

It is apparent that the Wall has become the best place for heating professionals to compare notes, solve problems, make friends and educate us homeowners.

Like so many others, I came to The Wall with questions. I got answers from several considerate professionals and over time learned more and more.

Because of Dan's exceptional writing abilities, I learned about why things work the way they do, and how to improve on almost any situation.

Because of Dan's desire to bring heating professionals together face to face for a day of round table learning, many have benefitted tremendously a number of times.

Because of Dan's desire to include all who ask, I was able to spend a day at the Last Waltz and get more education in one day than I could anywhere else in who knows how long. And I met a lot of really fine people at the same time. I have not spent a better day for a long, long time.

    Thank you Mr. Holohan.

    Simply put..............

I would have nowhere near the grasp of hydronics that I do today, had I not stumbled across the Wall a few years ago.

The field of hydronics here in Northern Mich is nearly a lost art from what I can see. The distributors for the most part are stuck in the 1930's as far as heat emitters, control strategies, pumping away, etc. Panel rads with TRV's are a "furrin'" concept and viewed as something of an abberation. Reverse return? What's that?

Thanks to Dan and the Wall, I don't fall into the category of being hydronically illiterate anymore.

Thanks to all who share their knowledge so freely here.

Thanks to all who are humble enough to ask questions and generate discussion. I always learn something here.

    Great thread

What a great way to say thanks! I've learned a lot about what I don't know from this site & Dan's articles in various forums. He's got a great grasp of not only heating but history, marketing & salesmanship. His humor & "out of the box" attitude make this job more fun & challenging. Kudos as well to the "Godfathers of The Wall" as I call them: regular posters like Hot Rod, Mad Dog & others. It's good to hear what the contractors are saying about how the suppliers & wholesalers are/are not doing our jobs. Helps me serve my contractors better & the industry in general.

    Site appreciation

An engineer for Madison Gas & Electric Company suggested this website as a source for more information regarding hot water heating systems. That it has been in spades! It is my favorite website! What an amazing source of history, education, sharing of information, humor, accomplishments, daily ups and downs, great stories, great personalities: the list is endless. Thanks for making it all possible, Dan.

    Thanks

Thanks Dan for hosting this site.

Your books, your steam seminar and the advice I have obtained on this site have helped me keep my steam system silently purring. People are amazed when they come over to my house that the radiators just seem to all silently get hot at about the same time - there is no noise. Aren't steam systems supposed to clang and bang and hiss? I have recommended your books and this site to others many times.
