F&T traps

Completed a pm on air handling unit.It has a F&t trap on the supply and return piping on the air handler.This has a electric actuated valve on supply.Why would there be a f&ton supply?

    To drip the

    condensate that forms in the pipe while waiting for the valve to open. Unless it is a huge installation, a radiator trap would probably do the job.
