New to this site.
Hey I am just new here but you all sound like a bunch of old hens complaining about nothing.
That Rick guy I wouldn't hire if my last guy just quit and that Constanie fellow better take this oppourunity to pull a coup and say something as obviously it will drive all of these other loosers away for good. So how about it "Connie" do you think old Rick could put two reefs in the main and hank on the storm jib or would he be found puking in the bilge?

Sorry
I didn't know I upset JACK, Arrrrrh shiver me timbers a Pirate in KC? You be land-locked matey. Really, I miss my heroes Mark & Darin and was just being inquisitive and stirring the pot a bit. I am an acomplished sales person, who started in the field and managed a 10+ truck company only to find my calling in sales. I have 26+ years experience so I feel qualified to post, but not to insult so I am sorry...0 -
Yea, the last guy but in the secret place no body knows about.0 -

"Un shiver ye timbers" is what I proudly wear on the tee shirts we wear 2-3 times a week on our jobs and sales calls. I'm not a pirate. Just a "hydonician" and a "thermal enviormental comfort technician. (TECT)"
Rick: You work for WHAT supply house?,,,,,,, Not ANY of mine I hope.
The "chuckleheads" have found the way in and the spamers floodgate is now open. Anom., S.H. Rick and Liberal Lenny are here now. It is up to us as to how we deal with them. Smartly I hope. (G)

Constantin
I let it get personal and I am sorry. Not really my style and I must have had a bad day. Please accept my apology. Will try not to let it happen again...

wow
I have to start by saying that this is the longest thread I have ever seen on the wall. As far as homeowners on this site goes, I think that when I meet a informed homeowner it makes me more credible. I enjoy speaking with them about new products and how we can solve their problems. I feel that over the computer some posts can be misinterpreted and people should not assume the worst. I sincerely hope that this site continues to educate homeowners and pros alike. It helps our industry to weed out the knucklehead from the pro, which makes every pros job easier.0 -
I'm just a mere homeowner..
but through this board I've gotten to meet such great folks as Constantin (who owes me an email or two!), who is very impressive and knowledgeable (for a "mere homeowner") if you willing to listen; Ken, (who is so busy ranting on this board, we never get that chance to grab a burger before he hibernates up theya) who may be ornery and opinionated but, IMHO, knows his stuff cold and, I think, actually smiles behind that beard; Mad Dog, whose enthusiasm and encouragement let this homeowner tackle fixing a knucklehead steam install and now can live with the price of oil (just kidding); and let's not forget Steamhead and the rest who give so freely of their time and advice (even if it's "go to Find a Professional"...
Oh, and don't let me forget Dan who makes life a joy (thanks surely to TLM's 34 years of influence) and with whom I have spent some of the best of times, both in person and via the printed word.
So stop taking this all so seriously, you could be living in New Orleans (like my sister) or be without anything at all in Pakistan, Guatemala or The Sudan. As Dan says, Hug Your Kids and have another drink...0 -
Never heard
Never heard him say it quite like that. (Hug your kids and have another drink) That's good, but I'll wait til I hear it straight from the horse's mouth.0 -
Alex
Speaking of drinks, Alex... Don't you owe me one? or two?0 -
Well, he's said it to me...
But then again, I don't drink, so it's a pretty safe bet!
As to hug your kids, how could one resist this!0 -
Payback...
I owe you a lot more than that, my friend. When do you want to start collecting? We should try to catch a burger or something...maybe with the Master too?0 -
Wow...
... they sure grow up fast. No wonder Dan recommends hugging them while you still can!
... and observe just how happy the child is in a steam-heated home... Looks like your drop header is still doing its magic.0 -
Pat,
I just realized that was snow on the dusky mountains in the background.
How beautiful.
You okay my friend?

Alex's New Toys
Alex...
Are you interested in spending 2 hours or so with my graduating students in the lab, doing some cool circuit work? You could also show them you cool electric toys to help make their lives easier in the field once they graduate.
My mother is very ill and I am attempting to line up some guest speakers to fill the void while I am tending to mom during her final days.
Then, my friend, I think it will be me who is indebted to you.0 -
It is beautiful
And thats what I have to look at every day I live here. Tough huh.
Doin good Ken. That pic was taken about 8:30 the other morning from my office, the days are gettin shorter. You missed fishing season, I got 2 freezers full of Red Salmon and Halibut. Just waiting for ski season now, won't be too long.
If you know any heating guys (or girls) looking for work, send em my way. Gettin harder and harder to find. Especially the good ones.

My thoughts are with you and your mom . I am very sorry to hear about her illness .
I was thinking about this the other day . What about a collaboration with your students and Oil Heat Cares , replacing a heating system for a needy family ? Nothing better than hands on work in the field . I'm up for a Saturday or Sunday if it sounds good .
But put that idea to the side for now . There are more important things to tend to . My heart goes out to your mom .0 -
Ken
Great view!
Yer' not gonna start sellin them ther' open direct systems now are ya? I here d' air up ther' 'll rot yer brain. Better bring a can o' Jersey air (chunky style of course) with you just in case your dioxin level drops below average.
Good Luck in your move.

My deepest sympathies to you and your family. It's got to be tough, and it always seems to start happening as the holidays roll in...
Anything I can do to help, you know you've got it. When would you like me out there...
Maybe best to contact me off-line... You have my number?
