Laurel is a stay-at-home mom, Laurel is a stay-at-home mom...

    How beautiful!

If there were only more that were "just" like you. I don't think the stay at home mom thing is as looked down on by the dominant voice of our society as it used to be a few years ago but I still figured you could use the accolades. There are a few of us that appreciate what stay at home moms do more than you know.

Here is an address to copy for some more reading. Roger Marran is the son of the designer of System 2000. Scroll up higher to use the search feature for this site. Every boiler that you may be interested in has probably been discussed in the last few years on this site at length.

    oops! that link didn't work.

    How...

    Utterly offensive and beguiling.

    Or perhaps more accurately, "patronizing."

Absolutely ANYTHING for a sale eh.

I suspect she's read enough to make a rather well-informed decision.

Yet another reason to NOT get involved with these people.

    my 2cents

wow this a lot of posts for what should be very straight forward

My old house had cast iron radiators, I zoned it as much as possible, sometimes even 1 radiator was the zone in a given room.

I took all of the large pipe in the basement going to the rads out, and replaced it with 1/2-3/4 copper, insulated.

I would reccomend that for a System 2000 you repipe as much as possible and zone as much as possible to get the most efficiency.

By all means keep the radiators, I miss mine, but by zoning and eliminating as much of the large piping as possible, you eliminate a lot of water that has to be heated for nothing.

The System 2000 has a built in by pass to stop cold water from shocking the small mass boiler but cutting the large pipe out greatly cuts run time.

Contact Energy Kinetics and ask them who they rec'd in your area.
