    You guys are so sweet!

    Yesterday, our daughter decided to make an early appearance... so early that neither mum or I had decided on a name yet. So, while the name is still incubating, our daughter is definitely not. She's quite feisty and sooooo cute (I'm already wrapped around her little fingers) :-P

    At 7lb, 6oz and 20" long, she's full term, has long eye lashes, a full head of hair, and now the real fun begins. Tomorrow we bring mum and daughter home... we have a full house with family from both sides eager to hold her. I guess the spoiling will come later...

    ... many thanks to all of you for your well-wishes and Jack for starting this thread. Y'all are a great bunch of guys and gals and I appreciate your support. As baby duties increase, my presence here may decrease, but I imagine that all of you will understand that. Family will always come first.

    That is fantastic news! Congratulations! You do realize that although those fingers are tiny, you will soon be wrapped around them-little girls do that. Mine sure did- I knew it ,there was nothing I could do about it, and still it was just fine with me. I am happy for both (or now all three) of you.

    Congrats to Mom and Dad VonWentzel!!!

    30 years ago last week, we had our first one(s). We had our boy name and girl name all picked out and thought we were so out front with all the baby preparations............but one turned out to be two. My poor wife had a hard time with the delivery, the doc couldn't figure out why things didn't move. After she delivered what was to become Susan Kaye, the doc said, and I quote, "I think we have another one in here". My wife says to this day that she has never heard my voice lower than when I replied "You're kidding".

    Back to the subject of names........After looking at the two girls I didn't think either one of them looked like our originally chosen moniker, so out of the blue I told the nurse, "this one is Susan Kaye and the other is Sally Jean. I have no idea where those names came from because we had never discussed either one. My ever loving better half was in no condition to offer dissent or input of any kind so that's what my girls got hung with. They still love me to this day in spite of it.

    Enjoy her and cherish each day. There is nothing in the whole world where you can reap a greater return on investment than your own kids. She'll be bringing home a husband and grandkids in the blink of an eye.......ask me how I know that :)
