munchkin / pinnacle ???

Has anyone here had problems with these boilers making high temp water? A competitor rep has said there are alot of heat ex. breaking down at these temps. Any comments?

    I haven't heard of anything firsthand. Just rumors mostly from reps of other brands/types of boilers. I wouldn't use a Munchkin/Pinnacle for that purpose as my first choice. There is little difference in efficiency between that type of boiler and a well made standard type CI boiler when you get above 200* water temps from what I've seen. At <160* supply you have a totally different set of circumstances.

    I've not seen any problem running at high temp. although most of my systems are low temp. Even a system designed at 180deg. can benefit from in/outdoor reset since you only hit design conditions a couple times a year. So when 140deg. will do the job your heating plant is condensing and hitting that 96% efficiency. Also the interior space is much more even and comfortable. That is my experience.
