Propane & Pellet Stove Heating systems

I am considering adding a propane heating system. I currently have a Pellet Stove system which, other than storing the pellets, works great. I am wondering if it is possible/feasable to add a propane system. I have even thought of maybe keeping them together. I am also wondering if they could also use the same chimney connection. Any input would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Mike

gas system
It is rarely, if ever, allowed to put two heating appliances into one flue. There are exceptions using priority controls, but you can use only one at a time. There a many quality gas heating devices available that are direct vent (thru the wall) that may solve your problems.0 -
mixing LP with pellets or anything
NO! No how no way! A pellet stove operates under positive flue gas pressure mated to that one appliance. Actually, you cannot common vent ANY hearth appliances except a few B-vented gas fireplaces that are listed for that use and have their venting engineered, such as one large common B-vent for a multi-story condo. Still, a bad idea but legal in limited areas.
No, pick a fuel and stick with it. Just curious, why the interest in LP? It's pretty expensive. What brand/ model pellet stove do you have?
