Noisy Honeywell Gas valve
I have a natural gas boiler with a Honeywell VR8305M 4843 valve which is the primary gas valve which is hooked into 2 other valves which supply the 2 stage burner on my boiler.
When the Honeywell valve opens, there is a click whichj can be heard resonating back in the cast iron piping from the boiler.
Has anyone found a solution to this? It is transmitted back into the living area of the house and sounds like someone rapping the iron pipe with a hammer.
Thanks.

Fancy that
I'm seeing more don everyday and to think when I was growing up I felt special,I thought I was the only Don.
I'd never heard gas valve make that type noise however, I have herd switching relay and solenoid transmit noise like that.
Loose nut on the solenoid maybe.I've seen them burnout as well when loose.

Don, the first valve in
that Honeywell redundant valve system is a solenoid and it will open with a click. If it is real loud then it may be defective and need replaced.
What are the numbers on the other two valves used for staging and what is the make of your boiler?0 -
#'s on other valves
Tim,
The other valve (high fire valve)says Asco K3A45IT.
The boiler is a Lochinvar EBN 300.
Thanks
