    Purging Fin Tube

I know this is a "dull" question, but; is it possible that air trapped within a zone (after some repair work) could render a "no heat" condition? Is there a preferred method for purging this or is it a matter of finesse? I'd like to try this myself and was hoping for some tips. Thanks!

It sure could , but using the air-vent(if properly located/there), should offset the equalibrium the entrained-air is holding back within the piping, and allow flow.
However, there are many other factors that can cause a no-flow condition also, so more details would help.

Appreciate the reply Dave. Fact is, I needed to cut away about 20 ft. of fin tube to accommodate converging pocket doors (3'+3'). One story home with crawl space. Mind you, this was in the top 10 of my crawl space experiences, thus I was anxious to reconnect the tube down below and vacate. In my haste, I neglected to purge all that air at the time. Fast forward - cold weather hits NY - circulator (Taco 007) runs and runs and runs and quits. Replaced it, refilled system as best I could and, we got heat.

    Deposits in BB

Are you sure it's a calcium deposit? If so, it sounds like there are some very serious leakage problems with that system. A leak that big would certainly show itself at the boiler and circulator(s) also.
