Broken Coil Bolts
Just Wondering What Technique is Best Used To Remove Broken Hot Water Coil Bolts?
E-Z Outs? Left handed Drill Bits? Keep Drilling Bolt Until You Can Remove? Special Technique You Have Used? Thanks.0 -
Broken coil bolts
I've tried all of the above over the years. E-Z outs never worked particularly well. Also tried left hand bits. They seem to work pretty well. I think the most important thing is to be sure your first hole is as dead center as possible. Start small and work up. Eventually you get to where there's not much bolt left and you can pick it out. Then chase the threads and you're all set. It definitely requires time and patience.0 -

I agree with Jim start small and work your way up, Just dont heat that bit up too much or youll be going through more bits than you would like.....I drill for a few seconds then spray the bit and the bolt with penetrating fluid. Works well! Never use easy outs , and when u snap one youll see why , good luck0
