I had the same request for info, but could not find any nipples from the sites that you were sent to. I did however find the nipples from another guy and the site for that company is " http://www.plumbingsupply.com/leftright.html " . Best of luck.

    Reattaching Cast Iron Radiators

    Hello All,
    I am in the process of re-attaching three cast iron rads after we did some work on the flooring.
    I am trying to install a new threaded pipe between the valve and the rad, but it seems that the female threaded socket on the rad is wanting to accept a left-hand threaded pipe only (threads in the opposite direction)

    What do I do?? Are these pieces readily available, or should I use a left-hand thread male sweat adapter (do they make these??) and convert to copper?

    It sems like the other rads in my house were originally connected with a piece of threaded pipe that had a left-hand thread on one end and a right hand thread on the other. The pipe was then turned and it pulled the rad and the valve together...

    Is this standard practice, or am I missing something here? thanks -jp

    the LH threads are to link sections of rads together with a special wrench...you may be able to get a LH bushing or nipple from Burnham heating. No other source I have heard of.

    lefty righty

    you must have a left right nipple. you also need a left right coupling.
    it is used instead of a union
