Here is a formula right out of the RPA's (Siggy's) Precision Hydronics. Hope this helps.

Buffer Tank Size = (10 min cycle) (1,032,500 Btu 86,007 Btu system load)

here is one
V= T x ( heat source- load) divided by delta T x 500
Volumne = 15 minutes x 80,000-2000) divided by 180-160.
Or a 59 gallon tank charged to 180 delta T of 20 would give you a 15 minute run time with a 2000 btu/ hr. load.
