Figured you ask about that Big Ed. Would swear I've seen it somewhere, but can't find right now. Still looking.
My guess is that loss is slightly lower from vertical rises as natural convection along the pipe will hit its terminal velocity pretty quickly. Remember how short window rads have higher output per SF EDR than tall rads of otherwise identical design?0
