    Squirrel boiler

Does anyone know of a North American distributor for the Chinese manufactured boiler known as the "Squirrel". While at last year's ISH/Chicago, I spent some time in the East Asian section. I came across a very neat little wall hung boiler that was built under a joint venture between Guangzhou Devotion Domestic Boilers Manufaturing Co., LTD and Riello. None of the reps spoke enough English to hold a conversation but I was told that these boilers would sell for $300. It's not that I believe that fantasy but it seems like something to look into.

The quality of the boiler can't touch a Viessmann or a Buderus but had better finish, fit , and features than a Munchkin and was a complete package.
  • did you also see

the TACO, Grundfos & Wilo knock-off circs on display in the same section at ISH? Same shape, size & color. A rather balsey move - showing up with such obvious rip-offs while the real manufacturers were also exhibiting. I wouldn't care if they were free, none of my jobs will ever see any of those imports installed.

    Almost got run over

by some scout teams for those who make, & sell the knock offs, while we were perusing plumbing exhibits @ ISH a couple trips ago. Always a 3 person Oriental Team. 1 to keep the folks in the booth busy. 1 to scoop up 1 piece of all literature. And 1 carrying a briefcase w/ concealed camera.

That's one reason security has gotten tighter & why some exhibitors, particularly in plumbing, aren't there anymore.

Much of that was low tech. For high tech stuff: they wait until we set up factories over there, & then steal what they need to beat our brains in. I keep hearing that outsourcing production is a win-win situation. For who?

    Aged squirrel...

... he was a little stiff. How well does squirrel helper combat rigor mortis? Does it have to be kept refridgerated or could I keep some in the truck with me?

Good to hear from ya again Guy.
