How do I attach radiator grille?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I just had a new in-wall steam radiator (which came with a grille) installed in a new bathroom, and also replaced the missing grille for my kitchen radiator (pictured HERE: Radiator grill. Trouble is, I haven't the slightest idea how to attach these grilles, and my plumber has been no help. I gather there's a bunch of clips required, but don't have them. Any step-by-step tips for me?

three step program
step one stop check to plummer ?? step two call real plumber to connect radiator properly w/ convector valve & real steel piping. plumber will complete installation by putting on grill. step three don't hire bogus plummers0 -
Re: How do I attach radiator grille?
Thanks, Bob, for your reply. The pictured kitchen radiator was here when I bought the house 7 years ago, I'm just looking for some D-I-Y instructions to install the grille (I'm assuming it's not rocket science-it's not even plumbing-so I'm hoping not to have to hire someone to attach it). But are you saying that this steam radiator appears to be improperly installed? Is copper piping not appropriate?0 -
grilles
if i remember correctly there should be a pin inserted into the iron leg assembly and the grille snaps in. go to a burnham or govanale dealer and inquire. or possibly the burnham website can be helpful. if i get a chance i will check it for you. i have not used a sunrad for years so i am not exactly sure.0 -
I have rad like that in my bathroom. The grille connects at the bottom with a couple of little pins on each side, and then it is supposed to snap into place at the top with a spring clip. Mine has no spring clip so I just rigged a paperclip to hold it in place.0 -
Radiator Grilles
Bob and Dan are correct. The grilles for the 20"x5" Radiant Radiators are held on with a pair of pins and spring clips. These shouls have been supplied with the grilles when they were originally shipped....usually in a cloth bag. They can be obtained through your local Burnham Distributor. Our offices are closed today for the holidays and will reopen on Wednesday morning if you need to call for assistance from our Customer or Technical Service folks. (717) 397-4701
