I would try repacking the valve first with lampwick with graphite or teflon packing....

    Steam Supply Valve Leaking

    Hi,
    I have one pipe steam heat with smaller (18"x3"x3") recessed (convector) radiators. On one of the radiators the supply valve is leaking right from where you turn it. Question is, should I replace the valve or try using packing to stop the leak? Has anybody had any luck using packing? If so do you use the same packing as a normal water valve?

    On a similar topic - is it possible to seal a pinhole in the body of the valve assembly, or does it need to be replaced?

    Thanks. Is this lampwick the name of the packing? Where can I get something like that?

    Pin Holes

    You can braze or patch with epoxy but pin holes are a sign of deteration. I would look to replace the whole valve and find out the cause.
