Ceiling Radiant With duct install?

Hi all

Our company is installing new ductwork in a ceiling that has electric radiant. Any one know a good way to miss the electric in the ceiling??

I know nothing about electric radiant ceiling except that most people that had them did not like the electric bill and tried not to use them.

Our salesman asked me how to find the cables and had now clue, except a thermal camera which was shot down as being too expensive.

Thanks for the help!!

    voltage sensor

Maybe a simple voltage sensor that are usually avaible in most electrical supply houses fluke and a few others make them they give just a visiable light when they sense line voltage in a wire it may just be the ticket i can'ty see why it would not work peace and good luck clammy

    keep it simple

Keep it simple and go with a bucket and sponge.Works great.

Just know for the record, most I've seen are at 4 inch on
centers.Kind of hard to get a boot that will give good flow
and throw without cutting the conductor.

You could always drop down into a closet and then out the sidewall.

I still have a few customer that have electric radiant ceiling heat and they love it.However, they also have enough insulation in the attic to let the emitter do its job without breaking the bank.

You can tell houses Don works in

    by the clean ceilings... :)

Good call, Don, that trick. I agree, drop and go out a sidewall.
