Today I was in a home where they had a contractor install a Noritz instantaneous water heater as the heat source for several in-floor zones and an indirect water heater.I checked the Takagi literature I have and they do have schematics showing this. My question is whether or not this would be practical.The workmanship looked fine.I just have a hard time with this very low mass heat source not cycling to much.

tankless for boiler
It's been done and some manufacturers say its OK, but.....
some states like here in Maine don't allow it if the unit is not UL listed for use as a boiler, which it is if used to provide heated water to a heat source. Make sure it's legal in your areas. Also, we can't mix domestic with heating water, they must be separated. Your indirect will do that, but...
