Hedlund spring operated meters? your suggestion of Letro got me off on the usual google-chase and I'm seeing that Letro & Blue-White units need to be mounted vertically - while the Hedlund units tolerate any orientation. plus they have one with a 1-16 GPM range that seems perhaps better suited to my needs than the 1-10 or 2-16 that letro offers ...

I'm trying to ...
better understand what's going on in a radiant floor system that isn't performing as well as desired. it's an off-grid house with small 24vDC pumps powering the system. I'm suspicious that the fluid velocity might be a limiting factor here and am wanting to get a handle on the actual flow rate in the system.
my thought is to hook a flowmeter up through a couple short hoses and connect it to the purge valve hose bibbs. any suggestions of a relatively lowcost flow meter that might be suited to this sort of task?0 -
