Found this the other day on a job. The landscaper wanted to proceed with his project and didn't want to wait for us to recover the refrigerant and modify the lineset.

    Now that is some nice work

    I'd wait for the thing to fall down, snap a line and lose all the 22, then turn him in to the EPA for messing with stuff he isn't supposed to mess with. Use the $10K reward to go to Hawaii with Dan next time.

    That is really choice.

    What's wrong?

    The landscaper obeyed the 8 cinder-block limit, so I see no problem with that setup at all. In addition, it appears that he did center the cindevblock stack under the center of gravity of the compressor, so all looks great from this end.

    (I'm now ducking to avoid having my students throw heavy objects at me)

    what the hell are people thinking when they get into the hvac business im mean common is this the stuff they teach you at school.

    that's just dam right dumb :-) who the hell give him a pat on the back for thinking up that idea?
    oh yea the homeowner for allowing it :-)

    wow im getting scared because im going to be doing hvac installs with a company starting this summer. i better not be with a moron with brains like that ill kill him.

    id did my own 2 ton 14 seer arcoaire install last year and it came out top notch.

    i poured my own nice level and square concrete pad for it. insulated both lines sets put a dryer on it ran all the seal tight electrical tubing to the disconnect pressure tested with nitro vacuumed and got a lesson in charging.

    you guys will start seeing some nice work coming from me soon ;-)

    thanks and remember if it doesnt look right chances are it's not. :-)

    The "Lynching Install" depicted is a 14-ton 2-SEER system, the opposite of yours. At least it is consistently -bad.
