Help - my son in law is looking into a Bosch 250 sx water heater & asked for my advice. Since I know nothing about gas water heaters I figured the best thing to do is to check here.
Any thoughts?

gas sizing
I've installed the Bosch units, they work real good as long as you realize that they need a minimun flow thru them, about 3/4 gpm, and the require a big difference is gas pipe sizing because of the 185,000 btu input. Usually a reg w/h is at the most 75,000 btu, the bosch is 185,000 ( check it out), if it's a long run from the gas meter, 60' - with your other items it's probably 1 14 or 1 1/2" gas pipe needed,,, it all depedns on the length and other gas items ratings, there is also an inlet screen on the water supply that can clog easily w/ dirty water.0 -
Thanks, I appreciate your help!0
