Steam boiler autofill??

I have a steam boiler for my home. When I go away for vacation I have to have someone come by and add water to the boiler or it will shut down at a low level. Is there a mechanical way this can be done?

    Yes there is

    I'll agree....

    With Steamhead on this one.

    Find out WHY water needs to be added and fix it....but I have to add....

    I'm COMPLETELY AGAINST auto feed systems. It VOIDS all common sense, and makes "caretakers" invoke "complacentcy". Short expalanaition....people won't check things.

    Blowdown schedules are made for a REASON...and with the Damn "autofill", they get left behind, until "stuff occurs". The owner then wants to blame anyone, accept their lazy butt for anything that happens.

    Bad news in my opinion. I TEACH how things should be done...If the homeowner or "maintenance person" can't, or won't handle the maintenance schedule for boiler safety and longetivity, I refuse to be held liable for it.

    I TEACH...If some "knucklehead" won't follow my instructions, why should I be held responsible? Shoot, the tags that should be attached to a LWCO should be enough!(but who reads them?)
