Hello Sir,

I would like to have the opportunity to discuss with you the tekmar tN4 option. tN4 is our new line of Control system that is fully communicating and accessible via the internet, using a Gateway. There are plenty of fetures to speak of. If you are interested to hear more about this option, please don't hesitate to contact me at 250-545-7749, Ext. 214

Thanks,

Mike

    Controls

I am Looking for input on controls for a large hydronic job and piping arangments.

The home is just under 11,000 SQF all radiant (mostly wood floors) Indoor pool area with dehumidification (desert air system) Hydronic Geothermal we have 4 heat pumps one LP backup boiler (viessmann wall hung) 8 airhandlers with chilled water for cooling and hot water for second stage heat in some areas. The chilled water will come from buffertanks hooked up to heatpumps. the tanks will store cold water in summer and warm in winter. 19 zones of radiant (wirsbo)will also be piped from buffer tanks. we also will heat the pool water and hot tub from the geothermal(not at the same time) and viessmann solar for domestic water. I need 230 gallons for buffer tank and 120 for domestic hot water w/demand system. any ideas? We also have to pipe 9 bathrooms and an aquasafe system but thats the easy part

    LonWorks

Smaller stand-alone facilities may benefit from LonMark/LonWorks controls. Each valve, damper, sensor, is a "node" with an embedded neuron chip. Motorola is a key developer. All devices act in series so can be slower than conventional DDC. But each device reads what it needs. If the network goes down, each device continues where it left off. I have specified this on a couple of similar houses to what you describe.

Otherwise you could use conventioal DDC. Check out Automated Logic Corp. Simple and elegant. There is also Johnson Controls, Invensys (formerly Siebe and Barber-Coleman but they do a LonWorks version too I believe).

None of this is low cost but otherwise you would have a bunch of parallel devices not speaking to one another. Tekmar I understand has a peer to peer if not networkable system too. Not sure how far it goes outside of hydronics though. I will sit back and read for a while.

    My $0.02
