Steam baseboard

Some time ago I described a problem of no heat with a CI baseboard, WM #9. It was suggested that I check the piping, especially the pitch.

After removing a section of flooring to gain access, I found the pitch to be flat if not negative. Also, the gurgle sounds were coming from the base of the inlet valve indicating steam condensing and stopping any steam flow.

Have re-piped now and adjusted pitch of both the lateral and the baseboard and on first try all 6 ft of BB heated and was totally quiet.

Ahhhh, the pleasure of steam CI heat.

Thanks folks for your guidance. Now the next project is to get a critque on the near boiler piping which is complete with a bull-T.

Thanks again. You all have been a big help in giving us HO people the confidence to proceed.

    Happy steaming

It is heart warming to see the effect this steam heated cast iron baseboard has on you. Thank you for the love and care you give your system. Many visitors will take note of your blissful enjoyment.

Steam will soften even the hard minded set on forced air heat.
