weak joint. Threaded joints are prone, iso flange o-ring crimped connections. Even border line solder joints will leak through.
When glycol is overheated it can turn acidic. Then it will actually start attacking most metals. This is why ph testing is critical! New glycol properly installed in a clean system will run 9- 10.5. Some manufactures suggesting dumping it if it falls below 7.
Not all glycol manufactures agree glycol is more leak prone than plain water but....
As for leaks.. has something to do with surface tensions of the fluid, so I've heard. I'm not sure the exact term for that measurement.

System Anti-freeze
Why does the addition of glycol anti-freeze to a system make the system leak prone? Where do these leaks typically occur?0 -

Antifreeze
Hot Rod, You change the viscosity when heated and the surface tension of the water. You've seed the difference in how water runs off a newly wax car?
I have a question for anybody.
In a previous post somebody said that all antifreeze systems leaked. Yet the same system didn't have leaks with just water.
Wouldn't this be like saying; A tree falling in the forrest doesn't make a sound if no one is there to hear it?
Give me a minute while I put on my bullet proof vest
before I take all the shots.
