MY take??

Riessman P & H and Mr. Moore probably will benefit more from these posts by responding the way they did with something that had a negative start--wil turn into a positive situtation

I would suggest to remove Reismann plumbing and heating in Chester from your "find a professional" list. They came out to look at our system, but never came up with a plan or an estimate despite repeated requests from us.
Not very professional, in my view.

    The Find a Professional advertisers

are just that. Advertisers. It could be that they just didn't want your business.

They contacted me this morning, so I would have to retract my post.
However, Dan, even is someone doesn't want business, a reply is the minimum requirement for that person to be called a "professional". It is your website, so you have some responsibility for the quality, even the advertisers.
I am just getting so tired of non-responsive plumbers regarding steam heat, that just for that reason I will convert the system.

    proposal

I spoke to Uli this morning. The proposal went out on March 4th but did not arrive at his home. I read it to him over the phone and I e mailed him a copy today and we will move forward on Saturday. We are a very busy and professional company and are proud to be associated with Dan and this site. Our estimates/proposals are not guesses or speculations they are calculated and accurate and I take time to do each one personally. It was brought to my attention this morning by a close friend of mine from PA. I would have hoped I would have got a phone call from Uli saying he was still waiting for the proposal rather than finding out this way, but it all worked out in the end.

    Another suggestion.

And I think it's a human one. You could have contacted me by e-mail and told me of your frustration before trashing them on this public forum. I could probably have helped.

    Professional

    response, Derek.

My daughter sent me a package last week to Florida with $7.00 dollars on it for a two day deliver. I am now home and it still has not arrived in Florida. The mail is good but it isn't always reliable.

    On the other hand...

I get tired of homeowners (or GC's) who solicit my bid, and my expertise, and don't return calls....

It is professional to return calls, regardless what side of the phone you're on.

    Yes,

that clearly would have been another option. I think I am finally so fed up with the situation that I do want to hold people responsible for their actions, which is very hard when it comes to non responsive professionals, and a message board like this is one way to raise awareness.

    One of lifes mysteries

My payments to suppliers never get lost in the mail but my customers payments to me get lost all the time.

    Ain't that the truth.

It amazes me when they say we never received your bill in the mail.
Now I send via email, fax and snail mail as back up.

Don't let open forums scare you

The events that transpired and the timeline is the best example of the positives of both the Wall and the efforts of people like Derek Moore and why his company and so many companys like his are doing well these days.

Take a look at the times of the posts. Late last night comes a complaint. Before 10 AM this morning the whole problem is solved and end of story. If it were me, I would have called the company and asked where is the information, but that's just me.

Think about it, Mr. Moore over in New Jersey heard from a friend in PA he was being slammed on the Wall and is able to solve the problem in a short amount of time. This is in my opinion yet another reason that the Wall is the superb resource that it is.

A long time ago, when I used to sell stuff, I found that the mark of a good company is not when everything goes right, but how you handle problems. I doubt that this concept is a new idea to most who run businesses and post regularly here.

    Just my two cents worth.

    Agree with Mike

I would have to echo Mr. Miller's post. Think of the damage that one misguided post can do to a business. As far as Derk Moore goes, I have been friends with and worked with Derek for 5 years now and can say that on both a professional and personal level, Derek is a man of the highest integrity.

we must remember to follow up quotes that are sent out within a 7- 10 day window ,it helps avoid these little misunderstandings , as bolth parties are sitting by the phone wondering who will call first.
