If you do not have crimps then try this, Strip 3/8 of a inch off then start to strip off about a 1/8th but just pull it to the end where you just stripped and leave it there then wrap around the screw then tighten the wire wont fray ......David

    silly question, but which do you prefer when wiring:
    crimp connectors or wire nuts?
    crimp connectors or curl the wire around the screw?

    Depends on the wire

    stranded wire dictates a crimp on connector in my experience. Solid wire bends and forms around a terminal screw just fine. Actually crimp on, on solid wire seems to loosen as you turn the end.

    Terminal blocks with pinch type holders do nicely for multiple wires regardless of the type.

    Multiple solid wires in a junction box, switches, receptacles, etc I still like the Scotch brand yellow/red and blue/orange soft wire nuts.

    bovide,Solid wire-no crimps; Stranded wire-crimp.Done right both are ok.Wiring nuts are for serviceing.
