Slinky Ground Loop Spacing Equation

Josh, We do 720'/ ton with slinkys, 50% overlap, 6 to 7 feet between loops. Depth depends on location but GENERALLY the deeper the better, we do a minimum of 4' - 5', 7' is better, (diminishing returns and all that) and of course depends on soil.

Doing my first slinky job.. All others up to this point have been straight horizontal loops.
Anybody know the spacing equation between coils? Need to calculate over-lap.
Thanks!!0 -

I run 36" diameter loops with a 50% overlap. Hope that is what you are looking for. Bryan0 -
I think it depends upon your soil structure...
Sand is different then wet clay.
No?

Assume soil structure, pipe length, and ditch length and depth are known. I believe the term for what I am looking for is called "Pitch."0
