split ac help

Dear Jay,

I have taken the indoor portion of the mini-split system out to show our customers how they will actually look on the wall. Perhaps you could go with a dual 12K unit to get you to the 24K you require. There are a lot of brands on the market; however, I think the units will all be fairly close in size. A H.V. system is nice, but you will have a lot of construction if your walls are not open. Closets can work. Maybe go with one AHU for the first floor located in the basement(if available), and the 2nd and 3rd floor could be fed from the attic with two more units. The central systems will get very pricey. I hope this helps to give you some ideas.

Respectfully,
REF

    split ac help

We have a three story home. First floor is open and 900sq. Second floor 2 bedrooms and hallway each bedroom r is 250 sq. third floor is 250sq bedroom. We are exploring a multi- split ac system. We have seen the Friedrick system but the interior wall units at 9" deep are far to bulky for our small wall space. Does anyone know of a manufacture with more streamline wall units. If not would a HV system for the top two floor work .We would like to limit interior damage. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Jay

Are you concerned with wall space or damage?

You mentioned both in your post.

If your primary concern is going to be giving up your wall space, you should definitely consider a central system. If you go that route, be sure to convey your concerns to the contractor, as the installation methods will vary depending on the amount of "damage" that is done during the process.

I do not have their literature handy, but you might want to look into the Fujitsu line.

Jack... Are you around to provide some Fujitsu dimensions for us?

Eugene our concern with a central system is damage. We would like to do a split system but the wall units we have seen for the first floor are much to large. Example is the Friedrich 24m btu is 39 long/ 10H/ 9D. That unit would look enormous on our first floor wall. If anyone can guide us towards a sleeker unit ,it would be great.

    Sure, Eugene!

You are correct the 24, 30 and 36K evaps are 39.25" W X 9 D X 12.625 H. They sit 2" off the ceiling. Perhaps you should look at a dual evap system with 2 12k evaps. They are 31 X 9.2 X 11.2. Again 2" off the ceiling. Given that they have a radiused, visually they tend to blend to the ceiling. Based upon performance, the longer you live with them, the better looking they become!!
