Bo Schembechler Dead

Wow

Bo died today, on the eve of the big game. Even a diehard MSU fan like myself is saddened.

Working in the shadow of the "Big House", and having watched the Maize-n-Blue since Bo started as head coach years ago, we've lost the" Leader of the Best".

Ooh!!

I'd say Bo, Bear Bryant, Woody Hayes, Ara Parseghian, Darryl Royal, Howard Schnellenberger (sp?), Coach Robinson and Joe Paterno were the best.

Joe Paterno is a man of goodwill for me, because when Coach Joe Yukica of Dartmouth was getting the bum's rush, Coach Paterno came up and testified for him; sign of a good man.

The Bear: Babe Parilli, Joe Namath, Lee Roy Jordan, George Blanda, Kenny Stabler... they all played for him.

I had the honor of trying out for Ara Parseghian when he and I were at Notre Dame. We were doing wind sprints and he called me over: "What's your name, son?". "Ragusa, sir!". "Well Ragusa, you better get the lead out of your rear if you want to play for me!". "Yes Coach!".

I guess I just had too much lead in my rear to make the grade, but it is a memory that I will cherish forever. See yas, youse guys. Jack
