Heat-timer vents

They work fairly well on a very good, dry operating system. But they do not last very long.
We liked them for awhile and installed about four hundred of them over the course of a year. Within two years, perhaps sixty failed due to a design defect which permitted the syphon bellows to detatch internally.
We wrote to the manufacturer and called several times, but they never responded.
The Gortons will last almost forever.

I was looking for vents to install on my 1 pipe steam system. I just bought the house, since several of the vents are bad, I am going to replace them all.
What do you guys thing of the Heat-timer varivalves? (http://www.heat-timer.com/?page=varivalve)They sound good in their literature.
Do these work well?
Do they vent the radiators too fast or are hard to adjust?
The manufacture compares them to the Gorton #2 main vent (for max flow rate), can these be used for main vents as well as radiator vents?
Thanks for your opinions.
