per Dan.
But I can tell you we just installed the ultra and the gold indirect tank.
And could not be happier.

Weil McLain ultra plus water heater
I'm about to replace my 1960's hot water boiler with a Weil McLain ultra boiler. I'm also considering the optional indirect fired hot water heater.
A 40 gal tank is going to run close to 2k. I'm having trouble justifying the cost.
Does anyone have an opinion?
Thanks,

Indirect Tanks
I'm in the midwest where indirects are rather obscure. By all means JUSTIFY THE COST. If you're replacing the boiler, add an indirect and watch the savings grow. Screw the initial cost. The energy savings and long life will put you waaaay ahead of the game.
Not an opinion....FACT!!0 -
I am a HUGE fan of the Ultra and the Plus storage tanks. Well worth the dough. In my opinion.0 -
I'm adding the direct because a standard hwt is 60% eff vs 93%(eff of boiler).Your indirect is the same as the eff as the boiler!0
