I know every Wethead is busier than a one-armed paperhanger right now, but just out of curiosity, how many ham radio operators are there in the ranks?

Just a few words from a CB'er, after finishing 1 1/2 years of "radio & tv" repair school back in 1951 I was going to try for the Ham license, BUT kept putting it off, then the CB craze grabbed me (cheaper and no test)so I've had a CB in the car and home almost the entire time even now (at 80 yrs. old) I have them. Not one of those yakayakers though, usually talk from car to home and listen on channel 19 on the road in case of any accidents. Also have a few friends who are Hams. Give you-all a lot of credit for passing those test and helping out in emergencies.

How did this thread get brought back?

Gosh!...glad to see some fellow hams on the Wall. Ruthe: go for it!..no code requirements anymore, altho Mr. Morse's code still lives on the HF bands. I'm not as active as I should be myself. --... ...-- -.. . .-- ....-

    Hams

Every saturday as far back as I can remember my dad would be in his shack with the beeping all morning long. Call sign k7wzx. My brother and mom have both got theirs I bought the radio studied, and then life hit me and have never gotten back to it. Someday. Great for distance communications and emergencies. Just no business calls.
