Logamatic R2107

I have a few questions for you. Do you have Buderus' R2107 Operating and Service Instruction booklets? Have you set up the Logamatic control?

Hi, I have a G215 with R2107 and room sensor. I have all radiators; no radiant floor heat whatsoever. I have the room sensor turned up to 18 for maximum control. I have noticed that when the boiler has excess heat inside (e.g., following a call for DHW PROD), the controller dumps the heat into Circuit 1 regardless of the temp set on the room sensor. For example, if the room sensor is set to 73, and the actual room temp is a little past 73, the controller still continues to run Circuit 1 even though the boiler temp has reached levels above the heating curve after a call for DHW and the room temp is already over-satisfied. Is this normal? Can the controller be set to turn off the pump for Circuit 1 if the room temp has been satisfied and the extra heat is not needed? Im am worried about spiking the room temp after many calls for DHW, e.g., when doing loads of laundry and showers. Thanks.

I have seen the same thing but

This happends most when the 2107 is first installed..... Has this changed at all over time? I.E. the dom hot water is set for 140 and in the first few cycles it will be over 150, when it is finished heating the dom hot water..... but after a week or so the control will stop the burner at 135 deg and circulate to the dom hot water untill it reaches 140 deg.

the control has to learn how big the indirect is and how fast it heats.......and..... we can not get the boiler below the dom hot water setting of 140deg when we are done heating the tank. when we finish heating the indirect the boiler will always be 140 deg or more so why waste the extra heat?

It sounds like you have radiators ......the 140 deg water will only dump into the house when the temp outside is below 63 deg.......This means that the boiler had the heat off, to reheat the dom hot water.....The heat that was lost in the time it took to reheat the dom hot water will be replaced in the home when the indirect is done heating. You might feel the heat if you had a low mas system I.E. baseboard but the rads have more mass to cool down the boiler so you might not even feel it.
    hope this helps

    yes

The easy way to get the books is at buderus.net. you can download any manual you want for the products. I have over fifty 2107/2105 ( 2105 is an older control) controls working today. I have set up alot of them many differant ways depending on the home...

Hi, thanks for your advice. Yep I have all the manuals and I am pretty familiar with programming the controller. What you say makes sense; I have only had it for a week so maybe it needs to learn about my system. I have the DHW set for 133 and when it gets down to about 126, the controller cranks the boiler up to 159 to satisfy a call for DHW. The boiler temp ends up at about 149 after the DHW call is satisfied, and this extra heat gets dumped into Circuit 1. My heat emitters are fin-tube convectors, so I feel the change in temp. I will pay close attention and see if the controller eventually learns to run the boiler temp lower in order to satisfy a call for DHW. Also, as the outside temp drops in the coming months, I assume that the extra heat produced by a call for DHW will no longer be "extra" in the sense that the boiler temp is outside the heating curve.
