    Air handlers

    I have a customer that wants to replace an air handler in a condo complex. The unit is jammed in a closet above the washer and dryer. The only physical way to work on the machine is from the bottom. Any idea on replacing this machine. It is only 12" in Height and 26x22 in lenth and width. A/C only system-

    I hate the way builders think,...("out of sight, out of mind"). Ideally I would like to see some kind of mechanical room, but I know that is out of the question. Whatever you do,Bid Large thats all I can tell you.

    Whatever You Choose

    Whatever piece of equipment you select or however you choose to intal it, just remember that, at some point in the future, you will have to service it.

    Quite often the installers do not consider the fact that others will have to follow behind to provide service.

    I have seebn too many instances in my day where threaded rod has been located right in front of an access panel. Better still, I have seen horizontal air handlers with the access panels directed toward the "shallow end" of the attic, making service next to impossible for any technician that weighs over 75 pounds.
