orfices

orifice rick, the oriface is sized according to the capacity of the compressor.in a lot of cases the only diff
between a 2 and a 2.5 ton will be the size of the oriface.
this will make a differance maintaining control over the refrigerant or flooding back.a fixed oriface is a comprimise situation to begin with.so change to the recommended oriface

    Change That Orifice

Sounds like the name of a new game show....

As mentioned, the orifice should match the capacity of the compressor/condensing unit.

To make life easier in the future, mark the side of the furnace/air handler with the number of the orifice that is installed as well as the date on which the orifice was installed/replaced/checked.
