NO electricity -- Hydronics for the AMISH

Has anyone ever used 12 volt batteries and an inverter (120V) to power the controls, pumps, etc. for a hydronic system? I have an Amish customer and we are going to use an outdoor wood boiler. I'm looking for sources to find batteries and other componets.

Why not run gravity hot water and just use 12-volt relays for the burner?0 -
Or
just run it all on 12V and skip the inverter. Laing make a fair selection of 12 V pumps. El Sid and Marsh also. Plenty of remote cabins run on 12V and solar panels.

In our area
the amish run gravity radiant systems off Burnham boilers with millivolt controls. I believe the amish have an exemption to use the millivolt.0 -
Amish Radiant powered by air......................
The Amish use air to power the circulator. They use a thermopile to power the aquastat and gas valve.

I think it is all up to the religouis leader. What he says goes. Some comunities can use air compressors some can't.
