Need Advice

Hi
We are remodeling a 80 year old house in Seattle. I need some advice regarding heating. I almost decided to put electric under floor heating in the basement and the bedrooms, but last night someone told me I could install a hydronic radiant heating system in the ceiling of the basement and that would heat the basement and the main floor. Is this true and how difficult would it be to do that?
We are planning the replace the basement ceiling in any case.

Let's put that in the maybe column

A system like that would be very uncontrollable. It would be better to get a hydronic knowledgable contractor to stop by, look over your home and do a heat loss calc for you.

With this info you could build a system that would be able to heat the up and down spaces accuratly and efficiently.
