Heading for the scrap pile

As sad as this is and it pains me to say it nevermind do it, but I will be scrapping whats left of my rad collection. I have been evicted from my shop of 23 years(property being sold) and cant find a home for the remaining homeless rads. I have been able to get rid of most of them but have a few big ones left. I know that MikeT(swampeast) is looking for something and the dimensions sounded close to something I may have. Does anyone know exactly what he's looking for?? Also, black pipe, fittings, crates and crates of black nipples( both schedual 80 and 40)in the neighborhood of a ton. Most of the tools I'll hold on to. Anyone interested in whats left before I scrap them? Its going to kill me to bring them to the dump. Let me know asap or email me at once. Thanks. Tom

Rads are in NJ

I will see them tomorrow morning and will get the exact sizes for you Frank. They came out of a large apt. bldg in Jersey City on a four flight walkdown.

U.S. Capitol. Thin tube rads. Tie rods and smooth nipples--can take them apart.

After all those years

of carefully collecting "good stuff" it sure is difficult to have to toss it out, huh tommy! I had to do somewhat the same a few years ago. Of course, 3 weeks later I could have sold a lot of it!!

You're right Tim

Its a heartache. I'll be glad when its over. I've fielded several phonecalls from interested parties so finding a place for everything will come with time. I have ALOT of good stuff that will serve someone well. "Tossing out" anything will be the absolute last resort. The worst part is scrambling to cleanout a place that I've called home for 20 plus years in two or three weeks. I figure two or three more days and I should be good to go. Sometimes letting go of the past ain't easy.

I have been \"advised\"

by "she who must be obeyed" that my first spring project is to remove my "scrap" from HER garden shed. She is right though; I have 4 old boilers and assorted trinkets that have been hanging around for a while now. So... I will be feeling "discard pains" very soon. It will truly remind me of your situation (in more ways than one).
It will be better than the alternative though --- I would have to park my new John Deere out in the weather!!
