cast iron system TD
A client asked me which scenario is more efficient: their residential cast iron boiler and radiator system with it's 3-speed circulator set at low speed with a 27-28 F TD, or to increase the speed to achieve the typical 20 F TD. The circulator operates nearly continuously (off an aquastat on the supply pipe). THANK YOU, Wetheads!0 -
circulator speed
John,it sounds like you have a older boiler if you are working it off an aquasat that is working off tempeture.
Wet rotor circulators use very little current and I wouldn't get lose any sleep over such a small differance.
The closer you get to constant circulation with longer circulation cycles the better your system will preform
from a comfort stand point.
