I'm replacing a steam boiler with a hot water zone off of a heat exchanger. I am going to add an indirect. Should I run the indirect off of the heat exchanger also or pipe it off of the boiler.

Onaly as a last resort
should you use Dan's method.
You have a golden opportunity to set this up nicely via a tankless coil - if you order the boiler with one!
If you need a schematic, I'll try and attach one I did in MS Word some time ago. This is a great way to get radiant, HWBB, and/or an indirect powered off a closed loop system - rather than deal with all the trash and rust that occurs inherently within using the filthy steam/boiler water as a source.
