I'm trying to find a source for passive vent dampers, which are mounted in the flue. I know that honeywell makes a motorized version, but I have seen the bi-metal type in use, and would like to install them on my boiler and hot water heater. Thanks for any assistance, JL

Passive Vent Dampers - Still Available?
Jon...
I don't know if they still make them, or if they are in fact a good idea. As there is no provision for some safety inter-lock to make it known to the burner that there is a free passage for the exhaust, you could have problems if/when it fails.
That being said... I had several units that were purchased for another application and one is still in the original carton unused. It is a 6" diameter stainless steel affair that if you're interested in let me know.
