Condensate hot water heating.

We recently installed a new steam boiler in a residence which had an existing condensate hot water loop on the first floor.

As part of the new install we re-connected that loop and added an additional zone on the second floor.

we used one pump and two zone valves, and we didn`t use a heat exchanger ,now we`re getting calls for no heat on the second floor.

Both zones together don`t add up to much of a btu load so i don`t think that`s the problem,i`m just wondering if having two zones on two different floors is a no-no.

    Two zones are fine.

    Did you install the boiler bypass line?
    Retired and loving it.

    did you try

    opening the zone valve and turning on the circulator? It could be you have a bad zone valve. I have used circs on multiple floor job's and never had an issue there..

    Went back today,turns out the water was passing through the boiler without picking up enough heat,had to relocate the supply to a tapping higher up on the boiler rather than off the bottom.

    Seems kinda strange though,they were on opposite sides of the boiler,diagonal to each other but it still wouldn`t work.

    What a b...h getting the damn plug out though,but that`s another story.
