I USUALLY SELL AND INSTALL VIESSMANN VITODEN BOLIERS, HOWEVER I KEEP RUNNING INTO CLIENTS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN POLARIS WATER HEATER/ BOILERS INSTALLED IN OPEN COMBINATION
SYSTEMS.DOES ANYONE HAVE INFO ON TRACK RECORD , PROS AND CONS OF THIS BOILER?

    Not a legal unit here in Maine. It's illegal to mix heating water with domestic. Have several in our customer base and only problems have been with the ignitors. Otherwise, they are a water heater primarily, and you have a far better product in my book.

    Polaris is a decent unit (minus the igniter issue, which you can settle by upping the water storage temperature), however of course you do not want an open configuration. Use a heat exchanger and you're all set.

    Pretty compelling unit for those large DHW demands though rather than a more expensive boiler plus a huge seperate storage tank, IMO.

    Polaris, great

    I've sold a few they have been very dependable and perform well as both water heater and boiler. Always use a flat plate heat exchanger and a tempering valve for the domestic hot water supply for scald guard protection. I had one warranty claim which was handled quickly and respectfully. I'd like to sell many more.
