in THE MAIN WALL
Hey guys, I have just started working on boilers and also just attended a Wirsbo class in Minn. During the class John, the instructor, was explaining about a bypass and to use a globe valve. Can someone please tell me what the difference is between a check valve and a globe valve? Thanks.

    A check valve only allows one-way passage.

    A globe valve is the most common type of valve recommended when you want to adjust flow. Gate valves should only be used fully open or fully closed and ball valves can have wear issues when used to throttle at higher velocities.

    Downside of globe valves is that they are the most restrictive form, but in a bypass this shouldn't be an issue.
