In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Memorial Day

Remember that today is a day of rememberance for those that have served our country and paid the ultimate price.

It's hard in times like this to focus and keep our priorities straight with our troops serving all of the world and standing on 'the wall'.

But, for the nearly 800 that have died in Iraq it is their day as well as the other almost 1 million veterans that have died in defense of liberty and our way of life since the Civil War.

For those of us that are veterans we have our day, November 11th and it's always hard for me to forget that one since it's my birthday. The funny thing is I know that veteran's think more of today than their own day, what's that tell ya???

I've already been to Lexington this morning to walk on the that sacred soil, think of a veteran that you may have known who gave it all and say a small prayer that those numbers shrink instead of grow.
